This lesson plan provides a worksheet about asking for and giving opinions. Expressions to ask for prices are also introduced.

Introduction
Using a shopping conversation, this worksheet presents and practices ways of asking for the price of clothes and asking for and giving an opinion about them. The worksheet uses a discovery learning procedure. The students are guided to underline the target expressions in the conversation sort them out in a chart and practice using them in well-designed activities.

Asking for and giving opinion
The structure of the worksheet:
Lead-in (starter)
- The envelope game:
Students take turns choosing a picture of a famous person from an envelope and ask about the other students’ opinions.
Presentation
- The students read a shopping conversation and answer a short comprehension task.
- They then are invited to underline the target expressions.
- They sort them out in a chart.
Practice
- Students are invited to do some practice tasks to automatize the use of the target language.
Production
- The students are given specific situations where they have to use the target expressions.
Asking for and giving an opinion, asking for a price
Starter
The students are invited to play the Famous People Envelope Game (practicing asking for and giving opinions.)

The procedure of the game
Choose a famous person from the envelope and ask one of your classmates what he thinks of him or her. Is he/she a good, bad, fantastic player, singer…?
