The past simple and the past participle of strive
Conjugation of the verb strive:
Base Form/Infinitive without 'to':
Third Person Singular:
To make a great effort to do something or get it.
The country is striving for economic development.
He was striving to be successful.
She strove against her fate till she exhausted her strength and couldn't fight anymore.
The irregular verbs in the table below have the same pattern as strive. They are:
- Verbs with '-en' in the past participle.
- Verbs like 'write, wrote, written'.
