The past simple and the past participle of string
Conjugation of the verb string:
Base Form/Infinitive without 'to':
Third Person Singular:
To attach something on a string or cord so that it stretches in a long line.
He was trying to string beads on to a cord to make a necklace.
My mom strung balloons around the room in preparation for my birthday party.
The irregular verbs in the table below have the same pattern as string. They are:
- Verbs with u in the past simple and past participle.
- Verbs like 'cling, clung, clung'.
