Sydney

Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. It is on the south-east coast of the Tasman Sea. In June 2010 the greater metropolitan area had an approximate population of 4.6 million people. Inhabitants of Sydney are called Sydneysiders, comprising a cosmopolitan and international population. The main attractions in Sydney are the following:

1. The Sydney Opera House.
   
   designed by the Dutch architect John Utzon. Tourists are allowed to see the backstage and the front of the house.
2. The Sydney Harbour Bridge.
   
   Sydney Harbour Bridge is famous and is one of the most spectacular in the world and you can't come to Sydney without visiting the harbour.
3. Royal Botanical Gardens.
   
   The Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, New South Wales, is the most central of the three major botanical gardens open to the public in Sydney (the others being the Mount Annan Botanic Garden and the Mount Tomah Botanic Garden). The gardens were opened in 1816 and can be visited every day of the year; and access is free.
4. Luna Park.
   
   Luna Park Sydney is an amusement park, constructed at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during 1935, and ran for nine-month seasons until 1972, when it was opened year-round.
5. Beaches
   
   Sydney is home to some of the finest and most famous beaches in the world. With around 70 surf beaches and dozens of harbour coves, Sydney is almost unrivalled in the world for the number and quality of beaches available
6. Sydney Tower
   
   Sydney Tower is Sydney's tallest free-standing structure, and the second tallest in Australia . It is also the second tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere.
