Paper exams will be replaced by online tests
Goodbye to paper tests
Technology will dominate more and more the way we perceive education. It will not only have an impact on how we teach our students but also on how we test their abilities.
Judith Burns reports in an article that appeared on the BBC website that online tests will replace paper tests in the future. She says that pen and paper exams will be a thing of the past by 2023.
Instead of written exams, assessment will be carried out in adaptive online tests where pupils sit exams on computers which analyse their ability and adjust the difficulty of the questions accordingly.
A Pilot Test
Technology will permeate education while maths and English and science will remain core subject. Online tests will evaluate students abilities. A pilot test is being carried out by the Independent Schools Examination Board in the common entrance tests taken by prep school pupils aged 13 applying to senior school.
